The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has stated that the Command is committed to ridding the nation of criminal elements trying to disrupt the peace and security of the country.
Egbetokun spoke shortly after handing over rescued medical students of the Universities of Jos and Maiduguri, who were abducted in Benue State a week ago, to their respective Vice Chancellors in Abuja on Sunday.
He warned that the Force would continue to employ every lawful means to protect Nigerian citizens.
The IGP reassured Nigerians and all persons resident in the country that the Force will remain vigilant, proactive, and relentless in its pursuit of a safer Nigeria where the security of persons remain a top priority.
He said, “We remain resolute in our commitment to rid our nation of criminal elements who seek to disrupt the peace and security of society.
“The Nigerian Police Force will continue to employ every lawful means at its disposal to protect the lives and properties of all Nigerians.”
Egbetokun promised that the force will not rest until every citizen and resident can go about their daily lives free from fear and intimidation.
