A yet-to-be-identified man has been rescued during an attempt to commit suicide on the Lekki Phase 1, Link Bridge in Lagos State.
Naija News gathered that the man left a destination in the state and went to the bridge where he attempted to hang himself.
It was learnt that some motorists and bystanders quickly intervened and prevented the man from hanging himself to death.
A viral clip on social media showed the man struggling with good Samaritans who were doing their best to rescue him.
The incident caused a gridlock along the major road.
Although it is unclear why the man decided to end his life, onlookers blame the prevalent economic hardship.

In other news, a herbalist identified as Terhemen lorbee reportedly hanged himself in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident happened in the wee hours of Saturday,5th March after his colleague found his body suspended from a rope tied round his neck.
The deceased father, Iorbee Ndyar and his eldest son, Fater Terhemen in separate chats with journalists, recalled that the colleague of the now deceased, Orduen Kerchen, brought him home around 10Pm.
Days after he was brought home, the deceased who is married to 3 wives, went missing Friday morning and was later found to have committed suicide by hanging himself.
When contacted, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, said she was yet to receive the report of the incident.
