A video has emerged showing Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, his wife, and some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) celebrating the victory in the Imo governorship election held last Saturday.
Naija News reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared that Uzodinma defeated his opponents in all Local Government Areas of the State to emerge the election winner.
The election was keenly contested between Uzodimma, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP).
Uzodimma polled 540,308, while Anyanwu scored 71,503, and Achonu garnered 64,081.
In the viral video, the governor, who was in a joyous mood, and his wife were seen dancing and partying after his declaration as the governor by the electoral umpire.
Also, the former Governor of the state and an APC chieftain, Chief Ikedi Ohahim, and the Imo Deputy Governor-elect, Chinyere Ekomaru, and other party stalwarts were at the Government House to celebrate the victory,
Addressing party supporters, Uzdodinma expressed profound gratitude to his team, party, and every citizen of Imo for their unwavering support, stating that the state’s progress is a result of their collective efforts.
Uzodinma also sent special thanks to the leader of his party, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his guidance throughout the electioneering period.
