Nigeria’s first indigenous chartered accountant, Akintola Williams, will finally be laid to rest on Thursday (today) in Lagos.
Naija News reports that the remains of the late Wiliams arrived amid mixed emotions at the Muson Center, where funeral services are being held in his honour today.
Recall that Pa Williams died at the age of 104 on September 11, 2023. The funeral ceremony had earlier commenced with a performance by the Muson Choir and Orchestra under the guidance of Emeka Nwokedi.
The likes of Zenith Bank Chairman Jim Ovia, Troyka Holdings, Limited CEO Biodun Sobanjo, Pastor Mrs Ifeanyi Adefarasin, wife of Paul Adefarasin of the House On The Rock church, among others, were all present at the event to pay their last respect to the deceased.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other top industry leaders have also arrived for the burial ceremony.
