Nigerian star, Victor Osimhen, has officially signed with Turkish giants, Galatasaray SK, in a blockbuster €75 million transfer from Napoli, ending months of speculation and sealing one of the summer’s biggest deals.
Victor Osimhen, 26, landed in Istanbul on Wednesday evening, July 30, 2025, where thousands of jubilant Galatasaray fans flooded the airport to welcome him.
Fireworks lit up the night, chants echoed through the crowd, and Osimhen, visibly moved, smiled and waved as supporters chanted his name.
Galatasaray officially announced that he has joined the club permanently shortly after with a series of posts on social media, including a cinematic video montage of Osimhen’s arrival and behind-the-scenes airport footage.
Before then, the club had teased fans for hours with a livestream tracking the Nigerian international’s flight into the city.
This is not unfamiliar territory for Victor Osimhen. Naija News reports that the Nigerian striker spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he made an immediate impact, scoring crucial goals and quickly becoming a fan favourite.
His performances in the 2024-2025 campaign were enough to convince the club’s board to go all in for a permanent deal.
The structure of the transfer reflects Galatasaray’s calculated investment: an upfront payment of €40 million this summer, another €35 million due in 2026, and an additional €5 million in performance-related add-ons.
Osimhen leaves Napoli with his head held high. He was a central figure in the club’s 2023 Scudetto-winning side, a historic triumph that ended the club’s decades-long title drought. His form in Italy earned him widespread recognition as one of Europe’s elite strikers.
