Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface said he is fully focused on achieving another successful season with Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen.
Recall that Victor Boniface joined Die Werkself from the Belgian Pro League club, Union St. Gillloise, last summer and had an outstanding debut season.
The 23-year-old Nigeria international striker not only helped the club secure the Bundesliga title but also played a crucial role in their DFB Pokal triumph.
Under the management of Xabi Alonso, Bayer Leverkusen also reached the final of the UEFA Europa League, albeit facing a 3-0 defeat to Atalanta.
Throughout the season, Victor Boniface showcased his skill by scoring 21 goals and providing 10 assists in 34 appearances for the club.
Reflecting on their success, Boniface expressed his determination to give his all to replicate last year’s achievements, emphasizing that the entire team shares this drive for success.
“We enjoyed what happened, how we made history and were celebrated by the club. And every one that witnessed it wants to witness more. I’m ready to give 100 per cent to achieve what we achieved last year, and I’m sure it’s the same for the rest of the players”, he said, according to the Counter Attack podcast.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles assistant captain William Troost-Ekong is poised to embark on a new footballing journey in Saudi Arabia in the upcoming season.
Troost-Ekong is set to depart PAOK for Al Khalood following the successful negotiation of a transfer fee between both clubs. Personal terms with the Saudi side have also been finalized by the 30-year-old defender.
