Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted the Emir of Bungudu in Zamfara State, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru.
Naija News gathered the first class traditional ruler was kidnapped on Tuesday by the gunmen along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
During the encounter, a policeman said to be on the Emir’s security detail was killed during a shootout with the abductors.
After killing his security detail, the gunmen escaped with the Emir, The Nation reports.
The Emir of Bungudu is not the first traditional ruler to be kidnapped in the ravaging security challenges confronting Nigeria as Naija News recalls the Emir of Kajuru in Kaduna State, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu was recently abducted before he regained freedom after spending time in the kidnappers’ den.
