Armed robbers on Thursday killed two people at a commercial bank in Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Wale Olokode, while speaking on the incident said, “while escaping, the armed robbers were shooting sporadically and gunshots hit two persons.”
Naija News had earlier reported that five armed robbers attacked the bank around 5pm when the bank had closed for the day and many staff had left the premises.
A source said, “When they entered the bank they order the bank staff to open one of the ATM machines which he did. They ordered him to open another one but he couldn’t because the key was not with him.”
The CP further stated that the armed robbers could not access the bank’s vault and left hurriedly before policemen got to the scene.
He added that policemen have been deployed to ensure the arrest of the robbers and assure that they would be apprehended and brought to book.
