Former President Donald Trump‘s vice presidential candidate, James David Vance, has called on President Joe Biden to resign as United States president.
The Republican Party vice presidential candidate said since Democrats are pushing President Biden to quit the presidential contest, it means he cannot also continue presiding over America.
The Ohio Senator said if President Biden lacked cognitive function to run for re-run election, he also lacked cognitive function to remain as US Commander-in-Chief.
On his X handle, on Friday, Vance wrote, “If Joe Biden doesn’t have the cognitive function to run for re-election, then he certainly doesn’t have the cognitive function to remain as Commander-In-Chief.
“How can any Dem pushing him to drop out of the presidential race, argue in good faith that he should stay on as POTUS?”
On July 17, in an acceptance speech as Republican vice presidential candidate, Vance accused Biden of sending American jobs away to other countries, including Mexico and China. He said since his childhood, Biden’s economic policy remained the same.
“When I was in the fourth grade, a career politician by the name of Joe Biden supported NAFTA, a bad trade deal that sent countless good jobs to Mexico.
“When I was a sophomore in high school, that same career politician named Joe Biden gave China a sweetheart trade deal that destroyed even more good American middle-class manufacturing jobs.
“When I was a senior in high school, that same Joe Biden supported the disastrous invasion of Iraq and in each step of the way in small towns like mine and Ohio or next door in Pennsylvania or Michigan, in states all across our country, jobs were sent overseas and our children were sent to war,” Vance said.
President Biden, who has been at home since he contracted Coronavirus (COVID-19), said he would not quit his re-election bid.
On Friday, Biden described his being at home due to Covid as unfortunate as he could not watch Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention.
“I’m stuck at home with COVID, so I had the distinct misfortune of watching Donald Trump’s speech to the RNC,” he wrote on his personal X handle.
