Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly closing in on a £60m transfer deal to sign Xavi Simons, the 22-year-old Netherlands attacking midfielder from RB Leipzig.
According to The Telegraph, Spurs are moving swiftly to reduce the risk of Chelsea hijacking the move. Chelsea, having already agreed a transfer fee for Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, 21, are also prepared to make a £60m offer for Simons (Metro).
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers have taken a firm stance on Norway striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, 25, rejecting Newcastle United’s third £60m bid, insisting he will remain at Molineux this summer (The Telegraph).
