Transfer Updates: Marc Guehi Refuses New Crystal Palace Deal, Andre Onana For Sale, Others

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is refusing to sign a new contract after his proposed £35m transfer to Liverpool collapsed this summer.

According to The Guardian, Guehi was furious after Palace blocked his switch to Anfield, with manager Oliver Glasner even threatening to resign if the 25-year-old was sold.

Palace had reportedly set their sights on a much higher valuation, with The Telegraph noting that Liverpool would have been successful had they offered closer to £55m.

Now entering the final year of his contract, Guehi is preparing to walk away as a free agent next summer and could become a target for Real Madrid, reports The Times.

Elsewhere at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s transfer window drama continues. The Athletic revealed that co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe vetoed a second attempt to re-sign Brighton striker Danny Welbeck.

Meanwhile, Teamtalk reports United remain open to selling Andre Onana. The 29-year-old goalkeeper may yet be on the move, with the Turkish and Saudi windows still open.

Nottingham Forest are also making waves in the youth market, with Fabrizio Romano confirming they are set to land West Ham prospect Chinaza Nwosu, 17, despite interest from rival Premier League clubs.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are hopeful that Yves Bissouma will secure a late move abroad before the window shuts in other countries, according to The i.

At Aston Villa, Emiliano Martinez is expected to stay despite Manchester United’s interest, with Romano noting the Argentina No.1 has no plans to switch to Turkey. The Villans also missed out on Royal Antwerp keeper Senne Lammens, who turned down a richer Villa offer to join United instead, reports the Mail.

In a dramatic late twist, Brentford forward Yoane Wissa only completed his move to Newcastle with 30 seconds left on deadline day after initially failing to sign one of the forms, Sky Sports revealed.

Scottish champions Celtic are exploring a move for former Leeds striker Patrick Bamford, with The Herald reporting that talks have already opened over a potential free transfer.
