Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Kelechi Iheanacho is set to finalize a two-year transfer deal with Spanish La Liga club Sevilla, this week.
Kelechi Iheanacho is scheduled to arrive in Spain on Tuesday for his medical examinations, after which the 27-year-old forward will formalize his contract.
Iheanacho, who recently departed Leicester City following the expiration of his contract, will be joining Sevilla on a free transfer.
His move to the Spanish club will see him reunite with fellow Super Eagles star Chidera Ejuke, who also joined Sevilla as a free agent this summer.
Meanwhile, Nigeria defender William Troost-Ekong may be headed to Saudi Arabia this summer, with three Saudi clubs expressing interest in securing his services.
The 30-year-old defender, who impressed in pre-season for PAOK, has recovered from an injury sustained during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named the Most Valuable Player.
Troost-Ekong’s performances, including a crucial goal in a UEFA Champions League qualifying tie, have evidently drawn attention from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
In other transfer news, reports claimed that Barcelona are considering Portuguese forward Rafael Leao as an alternative to Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.
While Williams has opted to remain at Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona have reportedly earmarked Leao as a potential solution to their left-wing needs.
The Catalan giants are said to be willing to pay €80 million to secure Leao’s services from AC Milan, a figure greater than the release clause they needed to trigger for Williams.
