Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news via his X account, stating, “Confirmed: James Rodriguez is now available as a free agent, contract terminated at Rayo Vallecano.”
Rodriguez joined Rayo Vallecano in the summer on a one-year deal with an option for an additional year, but his contract, originally set to expire in the summer of 2025, has now ended unexpectedly.
This marks another instance in Rodriguez’s career where a contract has been mutually terminated; he experienced a similar situation previously with Sao Paulo.
