2023 Presidency: Tinubu Arrives Nigeria From Saudi Arabia
The National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) and frontline presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu, has returned to Nigeria after attending lesser hajj also known as Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
Naija News learned that the former Lagos governor arrived in the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State on Friday night.
Tinubu, who spent three days in Saudi Arabia for the Islamic ritual, was received at the Lagos airport by some of his supporters and associates.
2023: Amaechi Reveals What He’ll Do If He Doesn’t Get The APC Presidential Ticket
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has declared that he won’t dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) if he fails to win the party’s 2023 presidential ticket.
Amaechi who is one of the aspirants seeking the APC ticket stated that his loyalty remains with the party regardless of the outcome of the presidential primaries.
He also vowed to support whoever eventually emerges as the APC candidate for the 2023 presidency.
The Minister was quoted in a statement on Saturday from his media office to have made the submission on Friday during a consultative meeting with APC members and stakeholders in Rivers State.
2023: PDP Chairman, Reps Member, Others Decamp To APC In Oyo
The Peoples Democratic Party chairman for Ibarapa Central in Oyo State, Alhaji Abiola Azeez, has decamped to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Naija News understands that Azeez was among others who defected to the nation’s ruling party alongside a member of the House of Representatives representing the Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Ajibola Saubana Muraina.
The politicians confirmed their defection to APC on Saturday during a programme organised by the Oyo State chapter of APC to receive new members into the party.
Naija News understands that Muraina, who is serving his third term at the green chamber, was elected on the platform of the PDP in 2019.
Buhari Would Have Been On The Streets If Jonathan Piled Up Debt Like He Did – Shehu Sani
The former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani on Saturday claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari would have protested if ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration piled up debts like the current government.
The governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party stated in an ongoing Twitter Spaces session with Daily Trust.
Sani lamented that Nigeria has never borrowed as much as it has under the Buhari administration.
The former lawmaker further stated that the current government keeps borrowing from everywhere despite the level of debt incurred by the country.
Insecurity Persists Because We Have A Weak President – Shehu Sani
The former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani on Saturday said insecurity persists in Nigeria because the President is weak to take action.
Sani stated this during a Twitter Spaces session with Daily Trust themed “Insecurity and 2023 General Elections.
According to Sani, if attacks continue across the country and nothing is being achieved, it is the responsibility of the president to remove people in charge of security and bring in new people.
2023: Sanwo-Olu Presents His Governorship Nomination Forms To Tinubu (Photo)
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has presented his governorship nomination and expression of interest forms to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The Governor made the disclosure on his Twitter page on Saturday morning where he also showed off a picture of Tinubu posing with his own presidential nomination forms.
Both politicians are seeking the Lagos governorship ticket and the presidential ticket respectively of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 elections, Naija News reports.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the development signifies a new dawn in the political landscape of Lagos and Nigeria.

2023 Presidency: Only Jonathan Can Decide His Own Fate But He Is Constitutionally Qualified – Ozekhome
A senior Nigerian lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) has declared that the constitution of the country does not in any way rule out former President Goodluck Jonathan from contesting the 2023 presidency.
Ozekhome added that those citing some constitutional reasons why Jonathan should not contest the 2023 presidential election are only being myopic and selfish, adding that they are only quoting one part and ignoring the other part.
In his view, such persons are afraid that the Bayelsa-born former President of Nigeria would defeat their own candidate hence their ploys to look for ways to disqualify him from the race.
The human rights lawyer argued that apart from the constitution, the case had once been taken to the Appeal Court level and the matter was settled in favour of Goodluck Jonathan.
2023: Nine Aspirants To Contest APC Governorship Ticket In Abia
At least nine members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State have declared interest in the party’s 2023 governorship ticket.
Speaking in Umuahia on Friday, APC Chairman in the state, Acho Obioma, said the party leadership is making arrangements to meet with all the nine governorship aspirants next week Tuesday to finetune modalities for the forthcoming primaries.
The party chieftain assured that the stakeholders will make a collective decision to arrive at the party’s flag bearer ahead of the 2023 elections in the state.
Naija News reports that Obioma stated this when he received the Nigerian Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah at the APC State Secretariate, in Umuahia yesterday.

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed says its not been easy combining presidential campaign activities with his responsibilities as a sitting Governor.
