President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a closed-door meeting on Friday with Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Naija News reports that the meeting, which underscores the President’s continued engagement with key political leaders and state executives, is believed to be part of broader consultations aimed at strengthening federal–state relations.

Governor Eno, who is the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom, was accompanied to the meeting by Akpabio, a former governor of the state, and two other top politicians from the region.

Although details of the discussions were not made public as of press time, according to Punch, the talks may have centred on deepening cooperation between the Federal Government and Akwa Ibom State, as well as addressing issues of national interest.

After the meeting, the trio posed for photographs at the Villa, signalling a cordial and collaborative tone.

Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the visit in a post on 𝕏 (formerly known as Twitter).

Onanuga, who referred to Governor Eno as the APC leader in his state, wrote, “Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno, and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday. Governor Eno is the APC leader in his state.”
