The All Progressives Congress National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel has warned against disunity among southern presidential aspirants in the party.
Israel’s warning is coming a few hours before the commencement of voting at the presidential primary of the ruling party.
He called on presidential aspirants from the South to leverage the commitment of the Northern Governors proposing to zone presidency to the South.
According to the NWC member, there is a danger if the presidential aspirants from the region fail to unite ahead of the party’s presidential primary.
Among the southerners contesting are National Leader of APC, Bola Tinubu, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi.
Israel in a post on his Twitter account wrote, “The Southern Aspirants better get their acts together and leverage on the commitment of the Northern Governors proposing to zone Presidency to the South. A word is enough for the wise. Ewu mbe loko longe (there is danger).”
Meanwhile, the Northern Governors Forum have affirmed their position for power to shift to the South ahead of the 2023 presidency.
