The lead pastor and founder of David Christian Centre (DCC) in Lagos State, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has stirred reaction online after he shared his thought about marriage and the biblical view to love.
Pastor Okonkwo in a post on his Facebook account on Tuesday had claimed that the bible never advised people to marry who they love.
The cleric while sharing his view further stated that the bible directs believers to ‘love who they marry’ and not the other way round.
He wrote, “Nowhere does the Bible say, Marry Who You Love, it says Love Who You Marry.”
The statement of the relationship coach has stirred reactions online as some believed that the Bible gave us examples of Godly people who love their partners before marrying them.
Some questioned if the pastor is advising people to marry who they are not attached to and start developing the feeling when they finally tie the knot.
