The Governor of Cross River State has mandated all his commissioners to submit detailed reports of their achievements since they took office.
Governor Otu also asked the commissioners to include progress reports of agencies departments and agencies under them to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
In a statement on Friday morning, Otu said the directive was aimed at facilitating a thorough appraisal of the administration’s collective performance.
He stated that accountability and result-driven governance remain the top priority of his government.
“I have instructed all Commissioners to submit a detailed report of the achievements and progress of their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government within one week.
“This directive is aimed at facilitating a thorough appraisal of our collective performance, ensuring that we remain on track to deliver on the promises and mandate entrusted to us by the people.
“Accountability and results driven governance remain our top priorities,” he disclosed on his X handle.
Meanwhile, the Governor on Wednesday during the state’s executive council meeting approved the renaming of the Secondary Education Board to Senior Secondary Education Board (SSEB).
Recall that Otu had in September canceled the recruitment exercise conducted by the Secondary Education Board on grounds of bias in the recruitment process.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to paying the approved minimum wage.
“We approved the renaming of the Secondary Education Board to Senior Secondary Education Board (SSEB) to align with national standards and attract funding.
“Additionally, I reaffirmed my commitment to workers’ welfare, including implementing the ₦70,000 minimum wage, and shared plans for rice distribution across all 196 wards to support our people during the Yuletide season,” Governor Otu stated.
