Today, Monday, the Senate Committee on Steel Development, chaired by Engr. Patrick C. Ndubueze had a very incisive and highly insightful sitting with the National Steel Council of Nigeria headed by the Executive Secretary / CEO, Ambassador Abdulkadir Musafari, wherein indepth conversation ensued resulting in useful information and strategic measures towards revamping and repositioning the Nation’s Steel industry as a viable alternative income generator to the Oil Industry in Nigeria.
During the engagement, Senator Ndubueze and Members posed vital questions which received revealing answers from the Executive Secretary of the Council.
Amb. Musafari emphatically asserted that, if backed with needed legislations and necessary policies, coupled with support of the Senate Committee, the Council and Steel Industry have the potential of enhancing the National Economy, while making Nigeria a power house in steel production and related manufacturing subsector.
Considering the significance of the outcome of the sitting and crucial nature of matters raised, the Committee resolved to have a special meeting with the Council Management to finalize Strategies and Action Plans [ WATCH VIDEOS]
