The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said Sokoto State under Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto has become the ridicule of Nigeria.
The outgoing chairman of the Sokoto State chapter of the PDP, Bello Goronyo, noted that the people of the state are eagerly waiting for the return of the PDP in the state’s leadership.
Goronyo stated this while speaking during the state congress of the party, held at the party secretariat on Saturday.
“When Sokoto is drawing the ridicule of the entire nation for ethical and moral scandals in government.
“The good people of Sokoto State, who are also witnesses to these realities, are waiting for the next opportunity to return the state to its days of glory under PDP,” Goronyo said.
The PDP chairman accused the Governor Sokoto of recklessly spending the state’s resources. He claimed that while the current government spend billions on projects, there was no value to show for it.
“It is under this administration that Billions of naira doesn’t have any meaning again, from Roundabout, to digging of borehole among others now in the state is now billion of naira.
“They continue to spend our resources recklessly without any value for such expenses,” Goronyo stated
He added that Sokoto under the PDP administration of former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal witnessed advancement in all sectors. He noted that it was a period of accountability and inclusive governance.
“During the tenure of our party in government, the state has indeed witnessed a period of advancement in all sectors, a period of transparent, accountable and inclusive governance with healthy politics on the part of the PDP,” Nigerian Tribune quoted him.
