SEN. NDUBUEZE REPRESENTS SENATE PRESIDENT, GODSWILL AKPABIO, AT INVESTITURE OF NSE LEADERSHIP, ASSURES OF NASS SUPPOR

Senator Patrick Ndubueze, representing Imo North Senatorial District, has assured the Nigerian Society of Engineers of the full support of the 10th National Assembly in advancing infrastructural development in Nigeria.

Senator Ndubueze made this assertion while representing the President of the Senate, Barr. Godswill Akpabio, at the investiture of Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu as the 35th President of the umbrella body for Nigerian Engineers, on Saturday, at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

Sen. Ndubueze conveyed the Senate President’s goodwill message and apologies for absence, attributing it to an unforeseen and pressing national engagement.

The Lawmaker emphasized that the engineering profession occupies a strategic place in National Development and aligns strongly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He further commended the Society of Engineers for maintaining professionalism, transparency and remarkable leadership succession processes since inception in 1958, while expressing confidence in capacity of the new leadership headed by Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu to deliver on mandate, citing his pedigree and track record in the engineering field as positive indicator.

The Lawmaker, however, called for increased vigilance by the Society in addressing incidences of infrastructure collapse, stressing the need to protect precious lives and valuable properties of citizens across the country.

Ndubueze reassured the Society of the readiness of the Senate and National Assembly to partner with leadership of the NSE through strategic legislations and oversight functions to ensure improved service delivery.

He went on to charge the new Executives of the Society to see their positions as a sacred responsibility, urging them to think innovatively towarda meeting the very high expectations of Nigerians.

The representative of the Senate President concluded by positing that No Engineers, No Infrastructural development in Nigeria.
