Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has praised late president Musa Yar’Adua on his sterling abilities 12 years after his death.
The presidential aspirant took to his verified Facebook account to speak about the former president whom he said was patriotic and selfless.
He praised Yar’Adua for building a strong legacy in the country before his demise.
He wrote: “12-years ago, we lost my dear brother and friend, our late President, His Excellency, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
“Today, I join his family, our friends, and all well-wishers across the nation to remember our selfless and patriotic leader, who left behind a strong legacy of performance and adherence to building stronger institutions.
“I pray that Almighty Allah continues to grant President Yar’Adua a place amongst the righteous ones in Al Jannah Firdaus.
Ameen.”
Meanwhile, Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday visited the Katsina home of Hajia Aya Dada Yar’Adua, mother of late President Umar Yar’Adua who died while in office 12 years ago, Naija News reports.
The surprise visit of the governor is believed to be a part of his effort to clinch the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The video that has surfaced online captured the moment the governor visited the mother of the late president while she lay frail on the bed.
Despite the efforts, Nigerians on social media, seeming unimpressed, called out the governor for showing care as a way of getting favour for the 2023 elections. Read more
