Netizens have been left in awe after spotting photos of a man who resuscitated a dying monkey with his mouth.
The monkey according to reports was attacked and almost killed by some wild animals.
Naija News observed in the viral photos that the man who has been tagged a good Samaritan by some persons online, gave the monkey a continuous chest compression and later resolved to mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
The dramatic scenario reportedly happened on Thursday, December 9 in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Seeing the animal lying unconscious on the ground, the local man whose name was revealed as M Prabhu reportedly rushed to perform first aid for the animal.
After a few minutes of continuous effort, the monkey regained consciousness and began to breathe faintly in Prabhu’s arms, Naija News understands.
Subsequently, Prabhu took the baby monkey to a veterinary hospital.
“We were on the Perambalur-Ariyalur road, when her condition deteriorated,” the villager said during an interrogating with local reporters.
He added: “I was worried about her condition and decided to take her to a hospital after she did not drink water.
“I am lucky to be there on time and rescue the monkey.”
The monkey was given glucose and a vaccine in hospital and is now recovering.
According to Prabhu, he had learned first aid back in 2010 and was “elated” to be able to put it to use in saving the animal.
“I request everyone to be kind to animals including wild ones if possible feed them,” he added.
