Barcelona fans can now breathe easy as their marquee summer signing, Marcus Rashford, has officially been registered with La Liga and is set to feature in the opening match of the season against Mallorca.
According to La Liga’s official website, both Rashford and goalkeeper Joan García have completed their registrations ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Rashford, who arrived on loan from Manchester United, agreed to a 15 per cent pay cut to seal the deal. The loan includes a €30 million buyout clause, with Barcelona set to cover his full salary package worth €14 million, including performance-related bonuses.
The England forward has already featured in four pre-season matches for the Catalan giants, scoring once and providing an assist. His anticipated debut in La Liga will come on August 16 at 6:30 p.m. when Barcelona face Mallorca away.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray are reportedly making a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed: “Galatasaray has submitted the first official bid to Manchester City for goalkeeper Ederson, which is around €10 million. Manchester City hopes to get a higher transfer fee.”
Ederson, 31, has been a key figure at the Etihad since joining in 2017, winning six Premier League titles, a Champions League, and multiple domestic trophies. His contract runs until next year, but his market value is currently estimated at €20 million.
In a potential twist, PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma is said to be open to a move to City should Ederson depart. The Italian international, valued at €40 million, has already agreed personal terms, according to reports.
