Paris Saint Germain have accepted Al-Hilal’s €90 Million bid for their Brazilian winger Neymar, including add-ons.
Neymar, who joined PSG in 2017 for a record-breaking 222 million euros, was absent at the start of the Ligue 1 season on Saturday which ended in a goalless draw against Lorient.
The 31-year-old is on the verge of completing the transfer paperwork and has booked a medical examination with the Saudi Pro League club, but is not in head coach Luis Enrique’s plans for the upcoming campaign.
Neymar’s pending exit from PSG is said to be part of the club’s shift in policy of doing away with mega superstars who earn astronomical wages at the club.
Reports claimed that Neymar earns around €25 million per season at the French Ligue 1 side as his basic salary which makes him one of the highest-paid players in Europe.
Since the Brazilian joined PSG in 2017, he has played 173 games in all competitions. He has helped the club to win 13 major titles including five Ligue 1 titles. He was part of the team that led PSG to the 2020 UEFA Champions League final for the first time in the history of the club, which they lost to Bayern Munich.
In March 2023, the former Barcelona player missed the remainder of the 2022-2023 season at PSG due to surgery, and he didn’t start working out again until July this summer.
Naija News gathered that Neymar is expected to earn a whopping €160 million per season once his move to Al Hilal is completed which will make him the third highest-paid player in the world behind Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr, and Karim Benzema of Al-Ittihad.
