‘Protest Is Not The Answer’ – Yul Edochie Urges Nigerians To Be Patient With Tinubu

Controversial actor and preacher, Yul Edochie, has called on Nigerians to remain patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, despite rising calls for protests.

Naija News reports that this plea comes as Nigerian youths, frustrated by the severe economic conditions, plan to protest nationwide from August 1 to August 10.

Several socio-political activists have been calling for a revolution, arguing that the government’s policies leading to the current economic crisis need to be reversed.

The planned protest has been a hot topic on social media platform X, with users sharing various opinions.

While acknowledging the nation’s struggles, Edochie believes that protests might not be the most effective solution, pointing to the potential for violence and destruction similar to the End SARS demonstrations.

He emphasized that protests often lead to unintended consequences, such as vandalism and loss of life, undermining their original goals. Edochie reassured that President Tinubu is attentive and actively working to resolve the issues at hand.

I acknowledge the hardships. Protest is not the answer. People take advantage of protests to break into other people’s shops, steal, destroy properties, hurt and kill innocent Nigerians who are already going through a lot. In the end, the aim of the protest will be defeated. Remember what happened during End SARS.

“Protest is not the answer. Let’s be patient. Let’s keep speaking out and doing all we can to help out. President Tinubu listens and he’s doing all he can to put make things right. Fellow Nigerians, let’s be patient,” Edochie said.
