The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the victims of the recent gas explosion in Kano State and their family members.
The President in his reaction via a statement on Wednesday evening signed by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu described the incident as very sad.
He further gave instructions to relevant agencies to provide adequate treatment for the injured persons while commending them for the steps taken so far.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with families over loss of lives in the Sabon Gari, Kano, gas explosion in which nine casualties were reported, and directed officials to provide adequate treatment for the injured persons” Shehu said in the statement.
“The gas explosion in Kano is very sad. My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. I wish the injured people a speedy recovery.
“In this moment of profound grief, I pray to the Almighty to bestow strength upon the families of the victims, the government and people of Kano State and urge them to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement added.
President Buhari commended the immediate steps taken in response to the incident by the agencies of the State Government, National Emergency Management Authority, NEMA, the military, Police and other agencies of the Federal Government.
It will be recalled that a gas explosion occurred in the early hours of Tuesday on Aba Road, Sabon Gari area of Kano State, causing panic among residents.
At least nine persons have been confirmed dead and many others injured according to an update by the Kano State government.
