Two poultry farmers and a man have been kidnapped at two different locations in Kogi on Wednesday, September 15.
The abductees are Pastor Mayowa Otitolaye and his partner Olorunpomi Damilola who works in Technical College of Education (technical) Kabba, while the third person abducted still remains unknown.
Reports state that the gunmen shot into the air to scare away people as they carried out their operations and kidnapped the victims behind Christ Apostolic Church, Egbeda-Kabba.
A source revealed to Punch that the community had discussed the need to employ some local security squads that would keep the area safe, but it seems people were not ready to come together to ensure the safety of the community.
The source also added that other communities around Okun land had taken it upon themselves to ensure their safety.
A man known as Yomi Obalore said that a suburb of Kabba known as Ikwowaopa was under the control of non-indigenes and implored people to be careful.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP William Aya confirmed the unfortunate incident and said the police were working with the security agencies and local vigilantes to bring the perpetrators to book
He said: “Our men are combing the bush at the moment and we are optimistic they the abducted victims would be rescued while the kidnappers will be apprehended,”
