The Imo State Police Command has reacted to the attack on the country home of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof George Obiozor.
Naija News earlier reported that unknown gunmen burnt down the residence of the former Nigerian ambassador in Awo-Omanma, Oru East Local Government Area of the state.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo leader was not at home when the gunmen attacked his property with Explosives Ordinance Disposals.
Speaking with reporters on Saturday, the state Police Spokesperson, Micheal Abattam, said the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, had ordered an investigation into the incident.
Abattam pointed out that the command had launched a manhunt for the perpetrators of the crime, saying that the suspect would be apprehended very soon.
He, however, disclosed that no casualty was recorded during the attack.
He said, “The attack on Prof George Obiozor’s country home in the Oru East Local Government Area is confirmed. There was no casualty. An investigation has commenced, immediately.”
