Stop Taking Police Personnel To The Slaughterhouse In The Name Of VIP Protection - Retired AIG Warns

The Commissioner of Police for Zamfara State, Mohammed Dalijan, has officially presented new ranks to recently promoted officers within the state.

Naija News reports that this event follows the recent elevation of 160 personnel serving under the Zamfara State Police Command, as sanctioned by the Nigerian Police Force.

Additionally, 84 Assistant Superintendents of Police II (ASP II) have been elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP I). At the same time, 76 Inspectors have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).

During his address to the newly promoted officers on Friday at the headquarters of the state police command, Commissioner Dalijan emphasized that this promotion is part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing the morale and motivation of officers actively engaged in combating insecurity in the region.

He remarked that this advancement serves not only as recognition of previous contributions but also as an encouragement for greater dedication in response to the persistent security challenges.

“You have to thank God for the elevation; this promotion is to change the way you do your things, the way you think, the way you plan and operate are all to change to reflect your new rank, to whom much is given, much is expected.

“We are going to give you new roles to play, which will reflect your new rank; you have to pray hard because there are a lot of expectations; we expect better performance and better crime-fighting strategies must be adopted in order for us to know that yes, you are wearing new ranks,” Dalijan said.

The Police Commissioner encouraged the recently promoted officers to intensify their commitment to combating the issue of banditry, emphasizing that their elevated positions entail greater responsibilities.
