The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended one Opeyemi Tosin alongside his accomplices for allegedly stealing about 26 generators within Akure, the state capital.
Naija News understands that the 26-year-old suspect was nabbed alongside his friends, ThankGod James (22-year-old) and Sodiq Segun (23-year-old), who joined in the operations.
Reports revealed that the two arrested with Tosin were the ones helping out in the selling of the stolen generators. Admitting to the allegations against, Tosin while they were paraded at the state police headquarters, said he got into the criminal act just 5 months ago.
Narrating how he carries out the act, the dry cleaner said he first surveys the environment before going back to carry out the crime.
Tosin further explained that his two accomplices were generator repairers who look for buyers for the stolen generators.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bolaji Salami who also commented on the arrest of the suspect he described as a serial burglar, said 26 generators were recovered from those the suspect had sold them to.
Meanwhile, the Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of some citizens armed with sophisticated weapons, causing a nuisance in the state metropolis, Naija News reports.
Speaking to reporters in Gusau, the state capital on Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Husaini Rabiu, said the command arrested no fewer than 15 suspects for alleged conspiracy, inciting public disturbance and riot.
