Renowned British broadcaster, Piers Morgan has taken to social media to criticize Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland over his attitude towards Arsenal players.
In a controversial comment via his official X page, Piers Morgan labelled Haaland as the “most arrogant player in the Premier League” and criticized his behaviour during the match against Arsenal on Sunday, September 22, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Morgan specifically condemned Haaland for his actions towards 17-year-old Arsenal player Myles Lewis-Skelly, stating that the Norwegian international had displayed a lack of sportsmanship by belittling his younger opponent.
Recall that Haaland disgustedly asked the young Gunner “Who the f*** are you?”
The incident that sparked more outrage from Arsenal’s fans occurred when Haaland threw the ball at Gabriel’s head following City’s dramatic 98th-minute equalizer.
Furthermore, Haaland’s confrontational behaviour extended to exchanges with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and former Manchester City player, Gabriel Jesus after the Norwegian striker urged the Spanish tactician to “stay humble”.
In response to a video clip showing Haaland clashing with Arteta, Morgan took to X to rebuke Haaland’s actions, denouncing him as a “nasty piece of work” and urging him to show more humility.
The media mogul said: “Humility lectures from the most arrogant player in the league, who nastily belittled 17-year-old Lewis-Skelly, and cowardly hurled a ball at the back of Gabriel’s head.
“Pipe down. You nasty piece of work.”
