The Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Police Force said it has diffused another explosive planted by bandit terrorists a few kilometres away from the Kaduna train station.
The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) according to reports, was discovered yesterday hidden at a location in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the report, the State Command’s spokesman, ASP Mohammed Jalige, explained in a statement made available to newsmen that residents of the area discovered the deadly device at about 07:50 PM on Thursday.
He said the command acted swiftly and its Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD) swung into action and successfully diffused the IED, without any loss of life or property.
In his response to the development, the Acting Commissioner of Police, DCP Maiyaki M Baba commended the residents of the area for their vigilance and for promptly reporting the incident to the force command.
The Police Boss again assured residents of the command’s commitment to always prioritize the safety of the public.
He, however, advised the general public to always report suspicious movement or persons in the areas, assuring that such information would be treated in full confidentiality.
According to him, normalcy had been restored in the area and residents were going about their normal business.
Meanwhile, bandit terrorists on Thursday night attacked Unguwan Bulus, a community in the Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna State.
The terrorists according to reports, stormed the community at about 10:20 PM in their hundreds shooting sporadically at residents.
“We are under attack presently in my neighbourhood in Kaduna. We have ran to safety,” one Bakuryok Tanjei confirmed the incident to Naija News.
Though the resident had declined to speak further on the incident, more residents of the community had come on social media to report that they are currently running for safety as the terrorists are invading the community in huge numbers.
