A picture of an operative of the Department of State Services (DSS), who was killed in Imo state yesterday, has been obtained.
Naija News had reported earlier that the DSS operative, Prince Nwachinaemere Ezemuonye Ozuzu, was murdered while on official duty.
The indigene of Umuoyo, a community in Irete in the Owerri West Local Government Area of the state was killed along Owerri-Onitsha Road.
Reports revealed that the father of four children was recently deployed for an assignment in Anambra State, shortly after the DSS office in Nnewi was razed. He was however murdered while he was returning to his duty post.
It was claimed by a source that Ozuzu was killed by a bullet from an accidental discharge by one of the police officers with whom he was working on a joint security team.
His death has however been confirmed by one of his cousins, Deacon Daniel Opara, who added that the family suspects foul play.
“We are yet to get the details of what actually happened as it was alleged that he was killed from an accidental discharge from the gun of a Police Officer attached to his colleagues with whom he was on a Joint Task Force on an assignment to Anambra State”, the relative is quoted as saying.
He added: “The family is suspecting a foul play as he was said to have been recently promoted.
“He joined the service about four to five years ago and was married with four children.”
This is coming a few days after some unknown gunmen on Sunday attacked and burnt down the police and the Department of State Services offices in Nnewi, Anambra State, Naija News reports.
