People No Longer Interested In Dying For Nigeria – Tonye Princewill

Movie producer and politician, Prince Tonye Princewill, has stated that Nigerians are no longer interested in sacrificing for the country.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV, Princewill lamented that Nigerians are no longer willing to die for the country because they feel the country is unwilling to sacrifice for them.

He stated that he often tells young people that one of the qualities they need to work with him is a strong love for Nigeria.

He said, “I used to say to them, one of the qualities you need to have to work with me is that you have to be ready to die for Nigeria.

But compared to 2007 until now, the number of those who are preparing to die for Nigeria is becoming fewer and fewer.”

He explained that this growing disinterest is due to the fact that many young people believe their leaders do not care about them.

They see that the country is not prepared to die for them, the leaders are not prepared to die for them,” he added. “It’s very unfortunate.”

Princewill also criticised the state of politics in Nigeria, saying it is hard to find anything inspiring in the current political space.

He stressed the need for political leaders to have clear ideas and ideologies and warned that without this, the system will remain the same.
