PDP Tags Tinubu “Bad Market,” Vows To End His Reign In 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a swipe at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as “a bad market” and declaring the party’s readiness to unseat him in the 2027 general elections.

In a media briefing held in Abuja on Monday, July 21, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, declared that no “patriotic Nigerian” would consider giving Tinubu a second term.

He cited the mounting economic hardship and insecurity under the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government as good reasons to vote out Tinubu.

“The PDP is the only party that can unseat the APC. We have the support, the base, and a national spread,” Ologunagba stated. “There is no community without PDP members, because it is truly the people’s party. Nigerians are eager for the PDP’s return.”

Ologunagba blamed the APC for worsening living conditions across the country.

“With the APC’s numerous failures, I can confidently say that no patriotic Nigerian, group, or political party will support Tinubu in 2027,” he said. “It is clear that President Bola Tinubu is a bad market. So, no one, whether individual or group, who is experiencing what we’re all going through will vote for Tinubu. Tinubu is a bad market and a one-term President.”

The PDP spokesman also addressed recent political shifts, particularly the defection of some PDP members to the APC and the emerging coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He dismissed their significance, insisting the PDP remains strong.

“Our party is organic and formidable. It is important to make it clear that the people who make up the party are not defecting,” he said. “They are not defecting because of hunger or insecurity. The people who form the bulk of our party, as well as Nigerians who are apolitical, look up to the PDP. So, they are not defecting.”

Ologunagba’s comments come amid increasing public discontent over inflation, subsidy removal effects, and a depreciating naira, issues that have overshadowed Tinubu’s administration since he assumed office in 2023.
