Son of RCCG General Overseer Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Leke Adeboye has condemned a branch of the church that launched an online dating site.
Naija News earlier reported that Redeemed Christian Church of God, the City of David Parish opened an online dating platform for mature singles in the church.
A senior pastor overseeing the parish, Idowu Iluyomade, disclosed in a forum that the platform would be launched.
Pastor Iluyomade while speaking at the forum called on single to interact and create an atmosphere that would allow them to make decisions for life partners.
He however said the people who connect have to do their due diligence.
When a single lady or young man registers on the site, the information would still have to be processed before approval.
Reacting to the development, Leke took to Instagram to share photos of couples who met the “old fashioned way”.
According to the pastor, Christians don’t need dating apps as the use of prayer and the holy spirit is sufficient for brothers and sisters searching to find each other.
Leke wrote: “Seeds connecting with seeds. We don’t need a dating app! We old fashion. We use prayer and the holy spirit to find each other.”
New checks by Naija News reveals that Leke has now edited his caption, removing the controversial parts.
