Nigerian billionaire and Chairman of First HoldCo, Femi Otedola, has said he is inspired to invest more with the new tax reform laws.

Naija News reports that President Bola Tinubu signed the four tax reform bills into law on Thursday, May 26, 2025, and the legislations are expected to take effect from January 1, 2026, restoring fairness in the tax system and igniting inclusive economic growth.

In a post via 𝕏 on Friday, Otedola welcomed the development, stating that the laws are a bold, necessary step toward a more transparent, efficient, and investment-friendly economy.

According to him, these reforms will simplify the system, promote fairness, and restore confidence in how revenues are collected and utilised.

Otedola noted he is inspired to invest more, adding that many other investors share the same sentiment.

He wrote, “As a business leader, I welcome the signing of the tax reform bills into law by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

“The new Tax Reform Laws are a bold, necessary step toward a more transparent, efficient, and investment-friendly economy.

“These reforms will reduce complexity, promote fairness, and restore confidence in how revenues are collected and used. It’s not just about paying taxes. It’s about building a system where taxes and other public resources fund infrastructure, unlock productivity, and fuel inclusive growth.

“This is how we build a stronger private sector and a more prosperous Nigeria. Kudos to everyone who contributed to this landmark achievement for Nigeria.
