Her death came shortly after a performance at the birthday celebration of Mrs. Stella Okoli.

She was rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos, where doctors tried to save her, but she did not survive.

The late singer, also known as the “Elegant Stallion,” was widely celebrated for her impact in music, film, and humanitarian work.

She was loved by many for her timeless albums like In The Morning Light and Dancing In The Sun, and her roles in popular movies such as Half of a Yellow Sun and Lionheart.

Her family had previously shared that she gave her final performance with energy and joy before the unfortunate incident.

In other news, a Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered that two individuals, Saheed Jamiu (also known as Osama) and Uyime Godwin Udoekwere, be remanded in prison for accusing Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late singer Mohbad, of murder.

Naija News reports that the police arraigned the duo before Justice Ibrahim Kala on Monday, accusing them of conspiracy, cyberstalking, and defamation.

According to the charge, they carried out the act in early July 2025 by holding a placard in Ikeja, Lagos, with words that alleged Wunmi was responsible for Mohbad’s death.
