The Southern Nigeria Senators Forum has praised the people of Edo State for electing one of their own, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as governor during Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
The Forum expressed confidence that Okpebholo’s leadership will bring significant progress and development to the state.
Reacting to the announcement of Senator Okpebholo’s victory on Sunday, the Forum, through its Chairman, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, released a statement on Monday.
They highlighted Okpebholo’s strong track record of achievements and his deep understanding of the challenges facing Edo State, making him well-positioned to lead the state towards growth and advancement.
The statement read: “The forum expressed optimism that Senator Okpebholo’s tenure as governor will usher in a new era of progress and development for Edo State, given his track record of service in the Senate and his understanding of the challenges facing the state.
“The Nigerian Southern Senators Forum has extended its heartfelt congratulations to one of its distinguished members, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on his successful election as the Executive Governor-Elect of Edo State in the just-concluded election held onSeptember 21, 2024.”
They further pledged their continued support and cooperation, urging the governor-elect to remain committed to the advancement of Edo State and the nation as a whole.
