The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has warned prospective corps members against falling prey to fraudsters on social media platforms.

A post on the official Twitter of the NYSC on Tuesday, March 16 sensitized Corps Members, Prospective Corps Members as well as the general public to be careful of fake social media handles that offer services that are too good to be true.

According to the corps headquarters, deployment of corps members and relocation is free and there is no need to struggle to work it out. It further warned the youths against joining suspicious groups considering that they also have physical security implications.

The warning reads: “Corps Members and Prospective Corps Members, as well as the general public, should avoid Facebook, Whatsapp and Telegram Groups that are suspicious and offer services that are too good to be true. There are many of them that use the name NYSC Deployment and Relocation is free and you do not need to *‘runs or work it’* and you do not need *‘a plug’* to do anything NYSC for you.”

“Do not join any of these groups considering that they also have physical security implications as you can be tracked using your digital footprints and activity on social media.”
