Chinemerem has officially made the switch from Nigeria National League (NNL) club Coal City FC to the newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) team Ikorodu City.
The talented young goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with the Lagos-based NPFL club and is poised to compete with Aina Oluwadare for the coveted number-one position.
Ikorodu City announced the signing through their official X page, generating buzz among their fan base.
They are gearing up to commence their campaign with a highly anticipated match against Kano Pillars in the upcoming 2024-2025 NPFL season, which is set to kick off this Saturday.
Jaji Leaves Kano Pillars
NNL side Sokoto United have secured the signing of promising young talent Yakubu Dauda Jaji.
The 18-year-old, also known as Abbaty, previously represented former NPFL champions, Kano Pillars.
Sokoto United expressed their delight in welcoming Jaji to the club, as they confirmed the signing through an official statement released on Monday.
Paul Offor Gets New Club
Grassrunners Football Club have appointed Paul Offor as their head coach ahead of their debut season in the Nationwide League.
Offor has signed a three-year contract with the club, and his appointment was confirmed by the side’s Chief Executive Officer, Gbenga Agbejoye.
“We want to welcome coach Paul Offor to Grassrunners FC,” Agbejoye said via a statement on the club’s official website.
“We are excited to have landed him in a three-year deal, and we hope that together we can move this great club forward.”
Recall that Offor made his name in Nigerian football when he helped Sporting Lagos to gain promotion to the NPFL ahead of the 2023-2024 season. Unfortunately, he was sacked mid-way to the season.
He had the chance to return to the NPFL ahead of next season when he was named Kano Pillars’ head coach. Unfortunately, the club mutually terminated his contract a few weeks after appointing him.
