It was the highest-scoring weekend in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as 32 goals were scored.
Naija News reports that the highest scorer was Akwa United, who thrashed struggling Nasarawa United 6-1 under their new manager, Coach Ayeni.
In Aba, it was a cruise for Finidi’s Enyimba as they hammered Kano Pillars 4-0 but it wasn’t a good evening in Lagos as relegation fighters, MFM FC lost 0-2 to Wikki Tourists as they close to confirming their relegation from the top flight.
In a twist, the two league chasers, Plateau and Rivers United lost by the same scoreline 1-0 to Heartland and Sunshine Stars respectively.
