Nigerian-born winger, Noni Madueke has bid farewell to Chelsea fans following his high-profile £52 million move to Arsenal.

Noni Madueke, 23, who joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in 2023 for £29 million, has signed a five-year deal at the Emirates after the Gunners agreed to pay an initial £48.5 million plus £3.5 million in add-ons.

Madueke becomes Arsenal’s fourth summer signing, following Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard, as Mikel Arteta continues to reshape his squad for a title push.

In a farewell message he shared on Instagram, Madueke thanked Chelsea staff, teammates, and fans, reflecting on his journey and expressing appreciation, even for the criticism he received.

He wrote: “Dear Chelsea Football Club,

“I want to thank you for the last three or so years. To every staff member who helped me along this journey, thank you.

“To my teammates, thank you for everything, I leave with only love and admiration for you guys. We achieved so much this season and I honestly wish you nothing but the best.

“To Enzo Maresca, it was a privilege to play under you. Thank you for trying to better me as a player and as a person.

“Lastly, thank you to every single Chelsea fan. Thank you for the love, the praise, and also the criticism, I appreciate it all. I leave here with nothing but fond memories. Love, NM11.”

Recall that Noni Madueke made 92 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 20 goals and playing key roles in their UEFA Conference League victory and Club World Cup success.

But his departure coincides with Chelsea’s latest attacking revamp, including new arrivals Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed that Madueke’s decision to leave came from the player.

“Selling him to a rival? If players want to leave, then it is difficult for the club and the manager”, the coach said. “Noni decided to leave. Nobody told Noni he had to leave. If he is happy, we are happy.”

Madueke is the seventh Chelsea player in six years to join Arsenal, following in the footsteps of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, Jorginho, Willian, and David Luiz.
