Arsenal fans will have to wait a little longer to see new signing Noni Madueke in action.
Naija News reports that the Gunners officially unveiled Noni Madueke on Friday after securing his signature from Chelsea for £52 million.
Though the 23-year-old Nigerian-born winger was eager to join Arsenal’s preseason tour in Asia, manager Mikel Arteta had other plans.
“Arteta has advised him to get some rest and be refreshed mentally,” club sources confirmed.
Madueke will now take a two-week break, assisted by one of Arsenal’s strength and conditioning coaches.
The player was given the break because he was involved with Chelsea at the just-concluded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
The England international, who has penned a five-year deal with the Gunners, will wear the No. 20 shirt at the club from this forthcoming season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s 19-year-old Ghanaian winger Ato Ampah has penned a new contract keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2028.
“Ato joined our Academy as an under-11 from grassroots football, and we’ve watched his development every step of the way,” the club stated in an official release.
The young Ghanaian-born talent has steadily climbed through the ranks of Chelsea’s youth system, making a solid impression across both the Under-18s and Under-21s.
Last season, he tallied five goals in 29 appearances for the U-21s and earned his senior debut in the UEFA Conference League clash against Astana in Kazakhstan.
Ampah, who has also represented England at the U-18 level, now looks ahead to the 2025-2026 season under new head coach Enzo Maresca, with hopes of breaking into the senior team more regularly.
Flourish Sebastian Swaps Galatasaray for Fenerbahce
Fenerbahce have signed Nigerian women’s star, Flourish Sebastian, from their arch-rivals Galatasaray. The Falconets forward has officially joined the Yellow Canaries, though the terms of the deal is undisclose.
Sebastian, 20, had a brief stint at Galatasaray after arriving last summer on a free transfer from France’s Stade de Reims. She was also part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where she found the net once during the tournament.
Celtic Add Firepower with Shin Yamada Signing
Scottish champions Celtic have reinforced their attacking options with the signing of Japan striker Shin Yamada from Kawasaki Frontale.
The 25-year-old arrives on a four-year deal after bagging 32 goals in 121 appearances for the J-League side.
“He is a strong player who can score goals and create goals for others… he can definitely add an important dimension to our forward line,” said manager Brendan Rodgers.
Yamada, who was recently capped by Japan, leaves his homeland club after a farewell match in the Emperor’s Cup.
