Nigerians have mocked the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, for saying youths tweet on WhatsApp.
The presidential aspirant while addressing youths of the ruling party at a rally held in Lagos said social media users could tweet on WhatsApp.
He said, “Do you know how many of you are tweeting on WhatsApp right now? [intelligible] holds a database of 1.6 billion on WhatsApp alone.”
WhatsApp is a messaging platform which is owned by Meta and it has more than two billion users.
Twitter on the other hand is a microblogging platform used by the general public including politicians, journalists, businesses, and youth to express their views about developing issues.
Tinubu commented while lamenting that Nigerians have not been able to harness the full potential of modern technology.
He said he would fix the problem.
Nigerians, however, in their reaction to the statement wondered how he would fix the problem if he can’t differentiate between the social media platforms.
