Nigerians have taken to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to condemn the failed attempt by a joint team of security operatives to forcefully arrest Chief Sunday Igboho.
As previously reported by Naija News, Igboho was on his way to see Afenifere chieftain, Pa Ayo Adebanjo in Lagos on Friday when the joint team, numbering about 40 ambushed him and wanted to arrest him on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
However, Igboho’s supporters resisted his arrest as commotion ensued between his supporters and the joint team which sought to arrest him by force.
Following the incident, Nigerians have taken to social media to condemn the move by the security operatives.
Below are some of their reactions.

Why this harassment of CHIEF SUNDAY IGBOHO by agents of a government that knows the whereabouts of bandits who live inside remote forests and won’t go near them but have the temerity and shamelessness to terrorize a man who lives in his own beautiful home in Ibadan city!!! pic.twitter.com/70fHCm3VI5

..I condemn this attempt to ambush& abduct him. It is not only reckless but also very dangerous. If the security agencies want to see him all they need to do is to invite him to their office. I am not aware of any crime that he has committed & I urge restraint on all sides. 2/

Buhari is making very big mistakes and his “yes-men” are cheering him on especially his clueless online army.
He has not arrested nor presecuted bandits/criminals that kidnap and kill unchallenged but he is chasing shadows. This is NOT endorsing Igboho’s ways.— Olu (MNITP/RTP) (@TowmeeLee) February 26, 2021
Sunday igboho is different from swore una dey try arrest person wey dey on guard 24/7

Lmaooooo so they can make attempts to arrest Sunday Igboho but they can’t locate “bandits” who sheikh gumi is having meetings with?

I will enjoin buhari, his puppeteers and puppets to calm down seriously; all the gragra will only met is serious resistance. How do you break in someone’s house and kidnapped him or attempt to arrest Igboho? Yet Gumi walks free with bandits; bargaining with terrorist. #FreeSomto
