The Nigeria Tulip International College (NTIC), one of the most reputable and high ranking Schools in Nigeria, with Campuses in Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna and Yobe States, today Tuesday, paid a Working Visit to the Management of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, to reach agreement for Partnership in the Student Peace Work Project of the Institution.
Making her Opening Remarks, the Supervisory Teacher, Halima Imam commended the Peace Corps of Nigeria for piloting massive Peace Initiatives across the Nation, even at Secondary School levels, which informed the decision for seeking the Partnership. Taking her turn, the President of the NTIC Peace Work Team, Halima Shettima, explained that the Peace Work Project was inspired by the outcome of a Questionaire Initiative conducted in the School consequent upon current happenings in the Society, of which Students of the School made very incisive and insightful Responses proffering possible solutions. Other Students and Members of the Project Team made intelligent and elaborate inputs regarding the Aims and Modalities of the Student Peace Work
In his response, the National Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Prof. Dickson A.O. Akoh, expressed his deep pleasure in seeing Teenagers at such early stage of Development understanding and embracing Peace Building. He revealed that he himself got to fully comprehend the concept of Peace long after his Secondary Education, and affirmed his confidence that the Students of NTIC Peace Work will do much better and go very further in Peace Building considering their early start in life. Prof. Akoh promised that the Peace Corps will, not merely issue Letter of Collaboration, but will make far reaching Technical and Material investments in this noble course, which he admitted was in perfect consonance with the Fundamental Objective of establisbing the Peace Corps of Nigeria.
The National Commandant handed Soveneirs to the Students on behalf of the Peace Corps, while in turn the President of the NTIC Peace Work gave a beautiful self-made Card of Honour to the Peace Corps of Nigeria.
Both Parties assured that the Student Peace Work Initiative shall make remarkable impact in the School and the Nigerian Student Community in general.
Present at the Meeting were top Management Officers of the Peace Corps, including Patriot Prof Edet Ekpeyong, Patriot Dr. Lola Omoleye, Patriot Badamosi Kabiru, Patriot Gloria Amadi and others, the Country Focal Person of Commonwealth Alliance of Youth Workers Associations, Engr.
