NFF Unveils 23-Player Squad For Super Eagles Clash With Benin, Rwanda

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the 23-player squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

The Super Eagles squad includes three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders, and seven forwards.

Bendel Insurance’s goalkeeper Amas Obasogie makes a return, along with South Africa-based defender Olisa Ndah and Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi, who hasn’t featured since the 1-1 draw with Lesotho in Uyo during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign in November last year.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to face the Cheetahs of Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, September 7, before travelling to Kigali to play against the Amavubi at the Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday, September 10.

All invited players are expected to assemble in Uyo on Monday, September 2nd ahead of the games and that could be their first time of meeting with their new head coach, Bruno Labbadia.
