NDLEA Issues Strong Warning Over Illicit Drug Trafficking

The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Rtd. Brigadier General Buba Marwa, has issued a stern warning to the youth population against the consumption and trafficking of illicit drugs.

Naija News reports that Marwa delivered this cautionary message during the inauguration ceremony of the agency’s newly established Zonal Office in Ayingba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi, on Tuesday.

Represented by the Zonal Commander Zone C, Hassan Sakaba, Marwa emphasized that the establishment of the Zonal Office in Ayingba was a strategic move to bolster the agency’s efforts in combating the widespread drug abuses and trafficking activities across Kogi and other regions of the North Central.

He implored the residents of Kogi to unite with the NDLEA in its crusade against the illicit drug trade, emphasizing the importance of this collective effort in protecting the youth from the detrimental effects of drug abuse.

“As patriots and concerned citizens of our dear country, we should rise to the occasion to ensure that we fight against the menace to keep our youths safe and sound.

“Illicit drugs are cutting short lives of our children, very promising children, who are our future leaders. We must therefore not allow that to happen,” he warned.
